Carestream Scientist To Present Scientific Paper At ECR 2015

Carestream scientist Dr Samuel Richard will present a scientific paper documenting the impact of advanced imaging technologies on lung nodule conspicuity at the 2015 European Congress of Radiology (ECR).

Dr Richard will present the paper, entitled "Anatomical noise and impact on lung nodule conspicuity: comparing digital radiography, dual-energy X-ray, and digital angular tomosynthesis, on Sunday, March 8, as part of the Novel Digital Imaging Techniques session, scheduled between 10:30 - 12:00.

A further paper submitted by Dr Richard entitled "Influence of X-ray pulse duration on lung nodule sharpness during digital radiography in a dynamic anthropomorphic chest phantom" has also been accepted by the ESR Scientific Programme for presentation within EPOS, the ESR’s Electronic Presentation Online System. This paper reports on how pulse duration can impact lung nodule sharpness due to cardiac motion.

Both papers are in collaboration with Dr Narinder Paul, Division Chief of Cardiothoracic Radiology and his group at the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada."Each year there are a limited number of scientific sessions for oral presentations so I am delighted to have our paper accepted for ECR 2015,” commented Dr Samuel Richard. “ECR is well known as one of the most innovative meetings within the scientific community and provides the ideal platform for research and science professionals to network and exchange information with like-minded others."
